How to Create Your First Widget
A step-by-step walkthrough from signing up to having a live social media feed widget on your website.

Sign Up for an Account
Head to socialmediafeeds.com and click "Get Started Free" or "Sign Up". Enter your first name, last name, email address, and choose a password. You'll receive a verification email — click the link inside to activate your account.
Once verified, you'll be taken straight to your dashboard where you can create your first widget.
Create a New Widget
From your dashboard, click the "Create Widget" button. You'll be asked to choose which platform you want to embed — Google Reviews, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, or YouTube.
Select your platform and follow the connection prompts. For Google Reviews, you'll search for your business name. For Instagram and Facebook, you'll connect through Meta's secure OAuth flow. For other platforms, you'll provide your profile or page URL.
Customise Your Widget
Once your content is pulled in, you'll land on the widget settings page. Here you can choose your layout (card, list, compact, or carousel), adjust colours to match your brand, pick fonts from Google Fonts, and set spacing and border radius.
For Google Reviews, you can also set a minimum star rating filter to only show your best reviews. Use the live preview to see exactly how your widget will look on your website.
Copy and Embed the Code
When you're happy with the design, click "Embed Code" in the left-hand sidebar to reveal the HTML snippet. Click the copy button to copy it, then paste it into your website wherever you want the feed to appear.
The embed code works on WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, and any website that supports custom HTML. Your widget will start displaying your social content immediately.
